Postsaver

Ground-line rot and decay (in the upper 150mm or 6” of the ground) is the number one cause of fence & gate post failure. Proven, Postsaver rot protectors make conventional ground-line rot and decay impossible by excluding all the causes of decay.

What is Postsaver?

A Postsaver rot protector is a heat shrinkable thermoplastic sleeve lined with a meltable liner. The rot protector is heat applied to a wooden post to create a long-lasting air and water tight seal at the ground-line section. Protecting this vital part of the post makes conventional ground-line decay impossible and maintains a barrier to the causes of decay, even if the post cracks or splits. The sleeve is applied to the post prior to installation.

Did you know that typically 1 gram of topsoil contains between 100 million and 3 billion living organisms?

Your posts are part of their diet. Believe it or not you are actually feeding them. Many of these organisms consume organic matter such as twigs, leaves and wood, but they also attack posts that you put in the ground to support your structures.

How Do I Apply Rot Protector Sleeves?

  • Position the sleeve on the post in the correct position (so at least 50 – 75mm / 2 – 3″) of the sleeve is above ground after installation.
  • Heat with a gas blowtorch to shrink in place.
  • Roll the sleeve on each side (this instruction is applicable to square posts only)
  • For high volume application we offer our PostMizer machine (up to 400 posts per hour)

What Do I Need to Apply Them?

  • Gas blow torch – from just $9.98
  • Roller Kit – from just $2.02 (required for square posts only)
